Would you like to feel more peaceful?
Mindfulness is a gentle and effective way to retrieve a sense of peace. Peace is already available in your mind, it simply needs some exercise so that you can have better access to it. It is the same as when you want to improve your physical health. You already have a body, you only need to work with it: go to the gym, do some sport or other exercises.
When you want more tranquility in your life, you need some training as well. The only difference is that here is no sweating involved. The path to peace needs mental effort but is gentle and simple at the same time. What is mindfulness? Mindfulness is an old English word that simply means ‘paying attention’. We all have the ability to focus on something, to bring our minds' attention into something. We do this with what’s called our awareness or consciousness. There is nothing mysterious about it. We all know that we can only achieve something if we concentrate and focus our mind on the goal we want to reach. If you don’t move your body enough, or only in a limited way, you will develop physical problems later on. Similarly, if you don’t move your awareness or mental abilities enough, or only in a limited repetitive way, you will get a feeling of being stuck and/or restless inside. Mindfulness is a way to train your brain to become open and flexible again. You have the possibility of regaining the inner joy and happiness you had when you were a child. There are many exercises available that will lead to the goal of attentive awareness and happiness. Some practices have been developed many centuries ago, and some are more recent. They all have been tested and proven to work. There is a lot of modern scientific evidence that shows that mindfulness leads to reduction of stress, better dealing with fear and pain, and it makes you able to cope more easily with the challenges of every day life and work. Having the training to use and teach traditional as well as modern mindfulness tools and techniques, Riemer can patiently and skillfully guide you to get in touch with your own inner peace. |
